24 Replies to “Joe Rogan On The Ketogenic Diet (Keto)”

  1. I could be totally wrong but… supplementing ketones seems completely pointless. KETONES are not the reason you are losing weight. The ketones themselves are not what is causing you to lose weight. It is your body being in a state of ketosis during which is produces ketones as a byproduct. So the using bodyfat as fuel happens FIRST, and then ketones are produced from that – no? Or something along those lines.

Eating ketones for weightloss is comparable to saying that if you drink your sweat, you are forcing your body into cardio. No, the sweat comes after your body does the work, and it is, in a sense, the waste.

  2. I try to reintroduce carbs after 3 years without them but I keep getting horrible insomnia everytime I try to get on them. Why on earth do I have problem digesting carbs now?? I'm desperate for a solution. Thanks!

  3. I have been Keto since May 1rst of 2016, and I do not plan on stopping anytime soon. I even supplement with Exogenous Therapeutic Ketones, and man, I have not felt this great since 2010!! Each day is something I wake up smiling about versus dreading the pain and agony of the day. I have had so many health problems, weight being one of them as well as hypoglycemia and fibromyalgia, amongst many others. Since I started this lifestyle (diet is such a four letter word!) I have lost 43lbs, haven't had a shaky sugar meltdown crash in over two months and only have had minimal flare ups! So YAY to Keto, YAY to Exogenous Therapeutic Ketones and YAY to channels like this that really focus on putting the truth out there!!

  4. I naturally gravitate towards a very low carb diet with maybe fruit or grains every 3rd or 4th day after a great workout, sometimes longer. Higher carbs keeps me bloated and puffy and hungry.

  5. I’ve lost 35 pounds in 6 months by suppressing all processed food, and increasing fruits and vegetables. A large amount of this 35 pounds was fat, How is it possible without being in keto ?

  6. Why are health insurance companies not doing more to encourage food processors to reduce fat, salt and sugar in their products. Insurance companies can not just sit on the sidelines and keep raising premiums. They need to do more to reduce costs by keeping people healthy..
Soda and Starbucks have too much sugar and fat in their drinks……………
Food should not be bad for you…… processed food has too much fat, salt, sugar and additives in them making them unhealthy. People need to go to their favorite food processors website, click on the CONTACT link and send them an email asking them to reduce the amount of fat, salt, SUGAR and ADDITIVES in the foods they produce. Their common answer is that they are producing what the customers want. You have to let them know that consumers want healthier food choices with less salt, fat, SUGAR and ADDITIVES in them. It only takes a minute to send them an email, tweet, call or text. Food should not be bad for you. There is an obesity epidemic leading to increases in heart disease, high blood pressure and cancer.
Do something — make a difference

  7. Riding a bike is fun and good exercise………walking, bicycles, mass transit and electric vehicles will all be part of making cities livable. Ride to school………ride to work………ride for fun………..
Bike to work day should be everyday….. employers needs to provide places to park and lock bicycles and encourage employees to ride a bicycle to work. Children should be riding a bike to school instead of being dropped off by their parents. Cities need to do more to provide safe walking and biking trails and paths that connect homes, schools and businesses. Speak up and ask for more bicycle paths in your community. Obesity is a growing problem around the world leading to an increase in heart disease, cancer and high blood pressure. Walking and biking can help improve health. Buy a child a bicycle……your son, daughter, niece, nephew, grandchild or donate one to a local charity as a fund raiser giveaway. You will change a life…………

  8. The science behind exogenous ketones doesn't make sense. Your body goes into ketosis when your liver runs out of glycogen and relies on burning fat. How do exogenous ketones affect your glycogen levels?

Many researchers and long-time ketoers are extremely skeptical of the claims these products make.Rogan ought to stop thinking that these exogenous ketone products are "get out of jail free" cards for cheating on his diet. Exercise some self-discipline if you really want to be in ketosis.

  9. One your body is fat-adapted, you can slip in and out of ketosis without too much issue. If you keep your sugar and starch intake down as often as you can, you're going to be ahead of the game. Then, if you happen to have a starchy or sweet food one evening, you'll be back into ketosis before the next afternoon, especially if you practice intermittent fasting.
