  1. Just started the keto diet and its day 4 for me…today I feel sluggish and have a headache so no big deal…I've been healthy for most of my life but once I began my 40's I started having joint problems…now that I just turned 49 the joints in my arms really hurt…I first tried DHEA and gave me almost complete relief but it's only a bandaid…researched diets that would lower GI and keto is the perfect fit…I researched what other countries like Sweden where doing…most importantly the opposite of what an American standard diet is…poison…day 4 and no joint pain W O W…it's incredible…healthy fat, protein, raw vegetables…this way of eating is changing my life I am truly excited…lastly my concentration is incredible!!!!

  2. Excellent! Thank you for making this ketogenic diet better understood. You covered so much and made it easy to understand finally. I have been confused about it. I will continue to watch for your videos. Keep up the great work and keep transforming you and us!!

  3. I'm a 77 year old fit woman. I work out regularly, but when I started on this keto genie diet 2 months ago, I heard that it was not really good to workout too much. So I cut down on the workouts. Now I'm going to go back to the workouts I used to do–I.e., every day, one day I lift, the next day I stretch. I'm going to do this because after watching this video, I'm no longer afraid. I am very strong. So thank you Conor.

  4. Good synopsis. Am just starting out, but in a week I feel healthier and clearer. I doubt that I have reached Ketosis, however the route there truly shifts one's reality from that of a carb based lifestyle. I definitely feel more energy and less sluggish.

  5. Thanks for a great video, Conor. I appreciate that you present your personal knowledge and use everyday words I can understand. I look forward to watching your other videos. Liked. Subscribed.

I started the ketogenic diet combined with intermittent fasting last June 2016. I fast 20 hours/day and eat during a 4-hour "feeding window" from 4-8pm. This timing allows me to go out for dinner with friends or go out for a snack after work. It took me just a few days to adjust to this fasting schedule. I now do not get hungry until 4pm or later. Today is 22 October 2016, and I have lost 22 pounds (mostly breast and belly fat), from 172 to 150 lbs, size 16 to size 12. This slow weight loss has minimized that sagging skin people can get when they lose weight. Right now, I am holding my weight where it is, in order to deal with the bit of sagging skin I have. When I firm that up by building my muscles to take up the space, I'll resume weight loss mode. The main symptom I got from the "keto flu" was feeling cold. I did this over the summer, and I was shivering cold at times. The hardest part of this diet for me is the body's ability to convert things like protein and caffeine to new glucose. If I eat more protein that I use that day, and figuring out how much I need daily is challenging, my body turns that unused protein into glucose. My strategy has been to shoot for ZERO carbs consumed, to allow for the fact that my body is probably going to convert x amount of protein (or whatever) into glucose every day. In closing, I want to point out that intermittent fasting alone will allow you to get into ketosis and lose weight. You just have to make sure that you maintain your nutritional status and guard against deficiencies. When I learned about these two weight loss strategies, it made sense to me to combine them and let them work together.

  6. Really powerful information!! thank you so much for doing this!!! I have one question: during the keto adaptation time, should I eat at my maintance calories or in a moderate deficit? This is the first time Im going to try the ketogenic diet Thanks again! I hope you can help me peace!

  7. YOU'RE ALMOST 30, I'M 68. I HAD NEVER HEARD OF " KETOGENIC ", OR INTERMITTENT FASTING, YET I NATURALLY EVOLVED INTO BOTH, AND ONE DAY , JUST " BOOM " EVERYTHING JUST FELL INTO PLACE… ENERGY, LOSING FAT(POT BELLY), SWEET TONES IN MY BREATH, ENDURANCE AND SO ON. AND I'M NOW VERY PLEASED TO HAVE IDENTIFIED THIS CONDITION, THANKS TO YOUR VIDEO, MY FRIEND, AND I CAN PROMISE YOU THAT YOU ARE DEFINITELY IN KETOSIS, JUST BY SEEING YOU. SO HEALTHFUL! THIS HAS GOT BE THE WAVE OF THE FUTURE . BEST I'VE EVER FELT IN MY LIFE. ONE OTHER POINT, I'M SURE THAT APPLE CIDER VINEGAR HAS PLAYED A MAJOR ROLE IN MY SUCCESS.

  8. EXELLENT VIDEO. VERY EASY TO UNDERSTAND YOU. LOOKS LIKE YOU HAVE A FUTURE ON THE SCREEN IF YOU WANT IT. MORE GOOD COMMENTS THAN ANYONE ! GREAT LUCK TO YOU, AND THANKS FOR ALL THE SUPER INFORMATION !

  9. I just want to say I just came from watching a McDougal high starch/carb video and the main thing I notice is that your not using any uh's in your speech. You appear to have consistent clear long lasting energy that helps you retain knowledge on various subjects. You look healthy and vibrant I'm just scared of the keto flu I used to get the flu a lot when I was younger eating meat everyday, but maybe getting both macros and micros from vegetables and meat along with fruits like avocado and coconut will be the most reliable. Because I have struggled with school being on a vegan diet. I think you've explained why it's worth trying out definitely.

  10. Efficiency of metabolism maybe… of assimilation I contest.

Without pressed oils, species enslaving and the burning of their flesh, I don't think you or our paleolithic ancestors could survive this way.

Fat is harder to find and acquire, much longer to digest, poorly absorbed and meant to be fasted and fermented. Land animals' cells employ sugar because it is relatively abundant under the sun while more primitive, shade-dwelling marine animals' are primarily fueled by fat.

The benefits you talk about are those of caloric restriction, even fasting (which you barely even do, smashing hunger down with a sedative, monstrous feast daily) has little to do with it. Up to 60% of your calories may be flushed down the toilet.

As a raw meat scavenging freegan and radical vegan, I think you have an unsustainable caricature of the standard american diet responsible for the genocide of evolved wildlife and the misery, torture, abuse and slaughter of the animals you eat.

  11. Thank you for this great video. It was really well structured and informative. What kind of blood glucose levels would indicate a state of ketosis if they do? Does an absence in carb craving after the keto flu has passed indicate a state of ketosis? Would 1 cheat meal in a week throw you off ketosis?

  12. Hi Conor, Thanks for making this really clear video! I have increased my fats and dropped my carbs for the last 4 weeks. I feel so much better for so many reasons on a lower carb and higher fat diet and I do want to continue. BUT i have noticed that my muscle mass has decreased slightly (my weight is the same and from a progress video comparison I notice I'm less full) I"m not sure what I am doing wrong? Any advice or if you could point me in the direction of more info would be much appreciated!

  13. okay , ive been putting this off , im gonna go for it . This will be more of a journey about spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical realignment. Ive been looking for a way to get healthy in a way that works with my body. Lets see if a ketogenic diet will do it .
