  1. I combined ketogenic diet with intermittent fasting. Over 8 weeks, I have lost about 17 pounds, 2 dress sizes. It is a challenge to not only refrain from eating carby foods, but also to refrain from overcomsuming protein and caffeine (to name just two), which the body then turns into carbs. It is further a challenge to determine what my nutritional requirements are per day, how much protein I need during any given day, for example. All that said, I AM making progress. I feel and look better. Therefore, I will persevere to lose an additional 15 or so pounds and maintain. This is a lifestyle change I have made. I do not plan to go back to eating carbs, to go back to my old way of eating, EVER. Good luck to all who are on this path of ketosis.
