Intermittent fasting is a tool I’ve utilized extensively in my life for health, fat loss, and general well-being. I talk a bit about my experiences, the benefits and drawbacks of intermittent fasting (IF), and who may wish to use/avoid it.

  1. im in the induction phase right now 9 days and I eat at 9am then at 3pm..not because I try im just no hungry and don't feel the need to keep eating. is this ok?…by the way I feel great…I love not feeling hungry all the time like I use to before I got rid of sugar processed carbs and coffee sodas etc….

  2. I watched a lot of videos of people's experience with intermittent fasting and the one meal a day way of consuming calories. And it makes total sense, give your body time to do it's thing. I found that people talking about the shakes, fogginess, and other effects of transition to be alarming. So I came up with a simple plan for myself, 12 hours between meals for a week then 13, 14, 15 hours (currently working) and then to the 16 hour fast. I have had none of the symptoms that others talked about, except hunger in the last hour. It seems to be working, the reason I am doing it is to see intermittent fasting's effect on my high cholesterol.

  3. I do 23 or 24 hours with a 1 hour eating window.

    I'm also Vegan.

I still have much to learn, but I've never felt so good, so for me, fasting is life.

    I'll never look back.

    loved the vid btw.

  4. Hello Tristan,
You are doing a great work promoting healthy lifestyle and sustainable thinking and I greatly respect that. I have started a Keto diet 2 weeks ago and so far I am enjoying it even though I have not reached deep ketosis yet. My questions is regarding Intermittent fasting which I am planning to start soon. I am consuming a Keto coffee (coffee, coconut oil, and grass fed butter) every morning and I wanted to ask if you think a Keto coffee breaks the fast as I have recently watched a lecture of Dr. Mike VanDerschelden who advocates it does not. Thanks a lot in advance and all the best throughout your important journey.

  5. I am a little confused on protein intake timing. I heard people saying your not supposed to eat all your protein at once, then I have recently heard that your body can store protein for later, but I also am aware that some protein can get converted to sugar if it is unused. I don't even know what to believe anymore, there is so much contradictory information out there.

  6. Wow.. Thank you for sharing the fasting benefits.

In fact, I'd like to Thank God too that impose us to fast for a month and enjoy a better healthy life 🙂 "Well.. it's part of our religion if you wondered" He's always pushing ourselves for good.

  7. I started Intermittent fasting before ketosis and had high blood sugar and a fast heart rate. I stopped and started 30 days after going keto and have no problems at all with intermittent fasting. I am 39 , female and overweight.

  8. ok so i did keto for 3 months then stopped, did more research and as of may 5th im almost 3 weeks now,, ok so i use a 6 hour window, i eat 1800 calories in that 6 hour window, this is day 2 for me for fasting,, its not bad, but im sure since i did keto before its just easier.. i know most of the benefits fasting can give me, will it help me become keto adapted faster or not ?

  9. I'm going to eat between 3-9, pretty easy for me to do, saves time and I much prefer 2 larger meals than 3-5 smaller meals. I feel I'm not getting enough food if a meal is below 700 calories and I actually feel I've only just had a good filling meal at around 1.1k calories.

so this works for me, 600-900 calorie first meal at 3ish
possible snacks between meals like nuts or something
900-1.3k calorie final meal around 8ish
I try and get my calories between 1400-1900 because i'm losing weight currently.

I also like to have more vegetables with my later meal.

  10. last summer/fall i was doing keto + intermittent fasting and was having GREAT results. Winter came and a lot happened in my life and i stopped working out and eating keto for like 4 months. Now I'm trying to do pretty much exact same thing i was doing before and it's not working out. I think fu*ked everything up. : [

  11. So if i'm young and trying to build muscle i'm 150lbs do i have to keto or if? i've been in deep ketosis without recarb then started if but my sleep sucks with both keto and if what should i do? i have low fasting blood sugar like 70-75…. any suggestions?

  12. I have been on VLC/HF diet for about 6 weeks. I have been in ketosis constantly for at least 5 weeks (blood ketone monitor). I have tried to start IF by fasting until early afternoon but I am way too hungry, lightheaded and lethargic. Is there something I am doing wrong? Do I need to be more fat adapted to have consistent energy?

    N.B. I exercise daily – 5x/week running 6-20km and resistance training 4x/week.

  13. All I know is that I have juiced and have done some diet changes before. but I have been doing LCHF not gonna say diet, let's just say new way of eating for the last 6 wks. and I feel AMAZING! just started IF last week and feeling even better. I do not know if I am doing it correctly but it seems to be working or the fact that I feel AMAZING! is all in my head, lol
