The Ketogenic diet is on the rise and a lot of people have questions as to what it is exactly and how it compares to Intermittent Fasting. I breakdown the the diet in a basic synopsis and I also compare it to Intermittent Fasting. The Ketogenic diet also known as keto allows the body to go into ketosis. This ketosis is what allows one to burn body fat with a low insulin just like fasting!

  1. Please correct me if I'm wrong (also any comments and critics!). I rationalized that the paleo diet concerns the foods that you eat, the ketogenic regards the distribution of macros and intermittent fasting the time window when you eat. I'm currently doing a paleo ketogenic diet with intermittent fasting some days of the week. I personally feel great! What do you guys think of this?

  2. I do IF, trying to be keto. When I test my urine for ketones, it's negative… why is that? I fast for 48 hours, then eat fat, protein and veggies, but my keto strips don't show any sign of ketones?

  3. I do both keto diet and IF and it works great for me. The keto diet is very much different from the Atkins diet because it focuses more on fat rather than protein. The keto diet macros are 75% fat, 20 % protein, and 5% carbs. I get my carbs from my vegetables. We do not eliminate all carbs.

  4. i IF from 1pm-9pm and i was wondering if it still works if you sleep through most of the fasting period or should you wake up and give yourself a certain amount of hours before your first meal? I stop eating at 9 and wont go to bed until 2-3 am and I usually wake up at noon or sometimes even later. does it affect it at all if i wake up right away and break my fast?

  5. I.F. itself is a not a diet. It doesn't tell you what or what not to eat since its just a eating schedule. You can combine I.F. with any diet including IIFYM, Keto, Paleo etc.

  6. Hey I love your videos. I'm glad I subscribed. Currently I'm 300lbs and I'm trying to drop weight fast. If I combine both of these methods will I see awesome results. I'm not going to the gym yet but I'm going to start some cardio here soon. I'm just tired of all these BS diets out there and want results.
